Rustic Roasted Potatoes with Orange Cranberry Relish

Perfect in time for your Thanksgiving menu is a fabulous side dish that will wow your holiday guests…a delicious spin on the classic roasted taters…

You’ll love my Orange Cranberry Relish, which pairs perfectly with these warm, rustic potatoes. I love the combination of smoked paprika, grapeseed oil and flax seed, which add a fabulous kick and flavor to your dish.

Rustic Roasted Potatoes with Orange Cranberry Relish

Rustic Roasted Potatoes


  • 2 ½ lbs. red potatoes
  • 3 Tbsp. grape seed oil
  • 2 Tbsp. wheat germ
  • 2 Tbsp. ground flax seeds
  • 1 tsp. chili powder
  • 1 tsp. smoked paprika
  • Sea salt and freshly ground black pepper


  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.
  2. Arrange potatoes in a roasting pan; toss with grape seed oil.  Sprinkle with wheat germ, flax seeds, chili powder, smoked paprika, sea salt and pepper.
  3. Roast for 35 minutes, flip potatoes and roast another 15 minutes or until golden brown.
  4. Serve with orange cranberry relish (below).

Orange Cranberry Relish

  • ¼ cup fresh parsley
  • 1 orange, peeled, sliced, seeds removed
  • 1 lemon, peeled, sliced, seeds removed
  • 2 dates, pitted and chopped
  • 2 cups fresh cranberries


  1. Blend orange, lemon and dates in a food processor
  2. Add cranberries and process for approximately 60 seconds or until mixture forms a chunky, ‘chutney’ consistency.
  3. Serve atop roasted potatoes.

VEGA Vegan Protein Patties and Marx Foods GIVEAWAY

  • 1 packet VEGA Sport
  • ¼ cup steel-cut oats, cooked
  • 1 cup black beans, cooked
  • 2 Tbsp. nut butter
  • ¼ cup canned pumpkin
  • 1 Tbsp. raisins
  • 1 tsp. white balsamic vinegar
  • 1 medium ripe banana, sliced
  • Pinch of each sea salt and pepper
  • 2 Tbsp. agave nectar
  • ¼ tsp. smoked paprika
  • 10 walnuts


  1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees F.  Prepare a baking sheet with parchment paper; set aside.
  2. In a food processor, combine all ingredients; process until smooth.
  3. Using a tablespoon, drop the batter into your hands; mold into patties and place onto the prepared baking sheet.
  4. Bake for 20 minutes or until lightly golden brown and crispy.
  5. Enjoy!

Smoked Paprika Carrot Fries and a Giveaway ‘1, 2, 3 Gluten-Free Cookies and Cake Mix’

Here is yet another one of my famous ‘healthy french fry’ recipes, however, this time I am using carrots! What a great way to get a nice dose of Beta Carotene!



  • 6 Large, fresh carrots, cut into fry-like shapes
  • 1 Tbsp. Olive Oil
  • Dash of Sea Salt and pepper
  • 1 tsp. Smoked Paprika


  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
  • Slice carrots diagonal into ‘french fry’ strips and place on a baking sheet.
  • Drizzle with olive oil, sea salt and pepper.
  • Sprinkle with smoked paprika.
  • Bake for 30-40 minutes.  Be sure to mix the carrots on the baking sheet every 10 minutes
  • Enjoy!
